Glasteel II Fuel Storage Tank (GLSII)
Glasteel II tanks with fiberglass jacketing as a secondary containment offer a blend of durability and protective features compatible with gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, ethanol and neat methanol. The steel tank serves as the primary containment vessel, providing strength and structural integrity. The fiberglass jacket, surrounding the steel tank, enhances its resilience and offers several key advantages.
Alltank Solutions Glasteel II design allows a minimum clearance, free flowing 360° interstice. Our components, exceeds testing criteria such as our steel monitor access tube is welded liquid tight into the primary steel tank. The FRP secondary containment exceeds all testing performance criteria. Third party accreditation by Ken Wilcox Associates (USA). Proves that the vacuum monitoring system on our Glasteel II tank (if required), exceeds all EPA (USA) requirements for tightness testing of underground jacketed tanks.
Furthermore, Glasteel II can be custom-designed to meet specific requirements, including size, and capacity. This flexibility allows for tailored solutions to suit different applications and storage needs. Moreover, the corrosion resistance and leak prevention provided by the fiberglass jacket contribute to environmental compliance, minimizing the risk of soil and groundwater contamination. This is particularly important for storing hazardous or environmentally sensitive substances. While the maintenance cost of steel tanks with fiberglass jacketing may be higher than FRP tanks, their long-term durability and low maintenance requirements can result in cost savings over time. This makes them a practical investment for many storage applications.
